After graduating the University of Georgia with a
Bachelor of Science in Education in 1997, she moved to Jacksonville,
where she began her career. For over sixteen years she developed curriculum and taught K-12 students at a
private college preparatory school in Jacksonville. In 2001 she earned her
Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from the University of North
While earning her Masters, she worked at Child Guidance Center and
Mental Health Resource Center in Jacksonville. After completing her Masters, Ms. Rose became certified in Guidance and Counseling K-12, where her
primary focus was working with academically at-risk students.
Katie has a passion for teaching young people and is most inspired by
teachers who use creativity and laughter to foster a positive learning
environment. She views each student as unique and always strives to find the
best way each student learns. Katie enjoys reading, music, and dance. She
created two dance companies, a Pom Squad, and a dance after school program at
her first school, and she has traveled and performed throughout the southeast United States and Germany with professional dance companies.
