The McKay Scholarship (Learning Difference-Based)

Public school students with an IEP or 504 plan may be eligible for the McKay Scholarship. File intent here.

Note to those enrolling in 2019-20:
-You must declare intent to use the money by the beginning of July 2019, and enroll your child in a private McKay School by the beginning of August 1, 2019 or you will not get the full amount of your McKay Scholarship.
-We automatically re-enroll returning students once they re-register for the school year at DePaul. (THIS SCHOLARSHIP ONLY.) 

McKay deadlines for 2018-19: 

To be eligible for the full amount of your McKay, you must file intent by July 3, and the student must be enrolled in a McKay School by August 2.

For 75% - File by September 2, enroll by October 2.

For 50% - File by December 3, enroll by January 2.

For 25% - File by January 31, enroll by March 2.

 

The Gardiner Scholarship (formerly PLSA; Learning Difference-Based)

The Gardiner Scholarship (formerly PLSA) is used for several different services, including tuition at private schools. It covers eligible children with Prader-Willi syndrome, Spina bifida, Williams syndrome, Phelan-McDermid syndrome, or intellectual/developmental delays. Not sure if your child qualifies? We are happy to advise you at your request. See if you qualify. 


Note: Do NOT delay in applying for this scholarship if you know you are eligible or need to reapply. Also, the McKay Scholarship and the Gardiner Scholarship cannot combine with each other.

 

Florida Tax Credit Income Scholarship (Income-Based)

The FTC program provides state tax credits for contributions to nonprofit scholarship funding organizations (SFOs). The SFOs then award scholarships to eligible children of low-income families. See if you qualify.
 

The Hope Scholarship (For victims of a qualifying incident of bullying)

Now open! Students in a Florida public school who have been subjected to an incident of battery, harassment, hazing, bullying, kidnapping, physical attack, robbery, sexual offenses, threats, or intimidation may be eligible to enroll in an approved private school under the Hope Scholarship. Contingent upon available funds, this scholarship is available to eligible students on a first-come, first-served basis.

The DePaul Scholarship (Income-Based)

*This scholarship opens to new students in May 2019. Some enrolled students are eligible for an income-based benefit to help offset DePaul's tuition. The third-party company who administrates this scholarship charges an application fee of $43. On June 13, 2018, this scholarship was closed to new applicants for the current school year.  Apply for the DePaul Scholarship now.   

 
This grant provides financial assistance to families of children whose learning needs require specialized education, but who cannot access this resource due to financial constraints. The third-party company who administrates this scholarship charges an application fee of about $40. Apply for it here.
